The theme for my website is a non-profit resource for soldiers who are mother. I have struggled through my career with balancing work and home-life. The job of a Soldier is much like that of a mother - it's 24/7/365 - you are never off-duty. I would like to be able to provide tips to other women who are in similar circumstances.
Like a lot of folks, I went with the simplistic route. I took a picture of a blank ID tag and decided to use that as my button source. I applied some simple effects and then duplicated the layer several times. I stuck with colors common to the Army - brown and green. I went with Viner Hand ITC font to give a softer look for the title and the tagline. This was to counter the harder edge of the Elephant font for the links. I've always struggled throughout the course with having my text stand out from the background. I think I did a much better job in this project choosing font colors that would compliment their background.
